Is Versus part of Plascon?+
Yes. Versus operates in partnership with Kansai Plascon, combining Versus's luxury decorative finishes with Plascon's manufacturing scale and quality systems.
Does Versus offer application services, or only products?+
Both. Many roll-on finishes are DIY-friendly, while trowel-on and spray-on finishes are best applied by trained applicators, whom we can connect you with.
Choosing a Finish
What's the difference between Venetian Stucco and ordinary paint?+
Venetian Stucco is a trowel-applied plaster finish creating a polished, marble-like surface with depth and movement that flat paint can't achieve. It's built up in multiple thin layers by trowel and sealed with a wax polish.
Which Versus finishes can I apply myself?+
Our roll-on range — Eurobrush, Ripple Coat Matt and Fortezza — is designed for confident DIYers. Trowel-on and spray-on finishes are best left to trained applicators.
What finish works best for a feature wall?+
For subtle elegance, try Versus Suede or Eurobrush. For dramatic polished impact, Venetian Stucco. For a natural stone look, Stone Finish or Natural Stone Trowel.
Coverage & Quantities
How much finish do I need for a wall?+
Measure width × height in metres for the square-metre area. Each product lists its spread rate — for example, Venetian Stucco covers about 1.2 kg per m² per coat, Eurobrush about 1.8 kg per m². Send us your measurements and we'll calculate quantities for you.
How many coats do I need?+
Most roll-on finishes need two coats over a primed surface. Trowel-on plasters are built up in several layers. Venetian Stucco uses multiple thin coats plus a wax polish. Always start with the correct primer.
Application & Aftercare
Can Versus finishes be applied over existing paint?+
Usually yes, if the existing surface is sound, clean and properly primed. Flaking or chalky surfaces must be prepared first.
Can I use decorative finishes in bathrooms?+
Some finishes suit wet areas with the correct sealer. Venetian Stucco is interior only and not recommended for shower areas. Ask us and we'll recommend the right system for the room.
How do I maintain a decorative finish?+
Dust with a soft cloth; for sealed finishes, wipe gently with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
